England, Novelist
Sebastian Faulks first visited India in 1981, to play cricket in Madras and Trivandrum. He has returned many times, playing in Mumbai, Rajasthan and in Jaipur for the Authors XI against a Rajasthan Royals XI in 2013.
When not playing cricket, he writes books. He thinks the best are Human Traces and A Possible Life; the public have bought most copies of Birdsong, Charlotte Gray and Engleby.
At the request of the Fleming family, he wrote a James Bond novel, Devil May Care, to mark the centenary of Ian Fleming’s birth. Annoyingly, it has not yet been adapted for film.
He lives in London with his wife Veronica, their whippet Hector and their Indian lodger, Gretha.
