Adaptations from manuscript to movie have become very popular. A book that has already made a mark has higher chances of being successful as a movie as well. In fact, filmmakers stand to gain from the ability to franchise popular books or even characters. But when you turn an iconic book into a film, how do you manage the audience’s expectations? How does the author deal with the fear that the adaptation will not do the book justice? Do books stand the test of time better or are movies better remembered?
