He’s a Rhodes Scholar, has a D.Phil. on the Social History of Indian Cricket from Oxford. One of India’s leading sports scholars and commentators, he is the author of many books on Indian sport and its history. He has taught at the universities of Chicago and Toronto and is currently Senior Research Fellow at the University of Central Lancashire and Adjunct Professor, School of Journalism, Australian and Indigenous Studies, Faculty of Arts at Monash University. His next major work, Eleven Gods and a Billion Indians: The On and Off the Field Story of Cricket in India and Beyond was published by Simon and Schuster globally in June 2018.
